New Brunswick Native Rob McLeod Visiting Local Schools

Rob McLeod, who grew up in Woodstock, NB and moved away after high school, is back in the province for a few weeks visiting local schools sharing his story and inspiring kids.

Rob, who lives in Calgary, Alberta, holds 5 Guinness World Records (12 total World Records), has won 5 World Championships and is the current Canadian Distance Record Holder in flying disc (Frisbee).

In addition to his success in the world of disc sports, Rob brings a message of hope and passion when he visits schools, talking about how he was bullied as a kid for being one of the few boys who figure skated and later in life, was teased for playing Frisbee but through it all, stuck with it because he has found his passion.

Rob hopes on returning in the spring when the weather is better so he can do some outdoor demos and he plans on bringing his canine teammate, Davy Whippet. Together Rob and Davy have 4 World Records, 1 Guinness World Record, 4 World Championships and 2 Quadruped Titles. Davy is the first dog to catch a flying disc over 400 feet and is currently featured on page 40 of the 2014 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Along with visiting local schools in Fredericton, Woodstock, Miramichi and Hartland, Rob will be competing in the 20th Annual FrUIT Bowl Indoor Ultimate Frisbee Tournament from January 25-26 at the Nashwaaksis Field House in Fredericton. Rob will be playing with some past teammates from Dalhousie University, where he received a diploma in electrical engineering and first played ultimate Frisbee. The tournament is open to the public and features the best ultimate players in the Maritimes. There are also many players from Spawn, the Fredericton coed team that finished 3rd at Canadian Nationals a few years ago. To find out more, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/587559681279382.
