Flinging Frisbees is a way of life for one Calgarian, and he’s set to put a new spin on an old pastime.
Rob McLeod will head to China Nov. 30 to appear on a Chinese game show, Zheng Da Zong Yi, where he will attempt to set a Guinness world record for hitting cans with Frisbees along a 26-metre table.
“I love throwing a Frisbee, it’s my form of meditation, and to see all the opportunities that have come from doing what I love, is truly an incredible feeling,” said McLeod, 29.
McLeod was first contacted by the show’s producer, Cathy Leishuang, a little over a month ago, and the pair went back and forth over possibilities for the world record attempt.
Eventually, the settled on the accuracy test, as it suited television production the best, said McLeod.
The world record attempts won’t stop with McLeod’s Asia adventure. He’ll return home and later this year will attempt a couple more slated to take place on the Bowness Lagoon.
For those looking to perfect their Frisbee game, McLeod says it’s all practice.
