Getting Unplugg’d with Frisbee at Levack School

My last stop in the Rainbow School district was at Levack School, a rural school 45 minutes north of Sudbury with about 130 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8.

Since it was a Friday, I challenged the entire school to go the whole weekend without a screen and to Get Unplugg’d. I encouraged the students to think about what they can do instead of thinking about what they can’t do. So, instead of thinking about not using screens, instead think about reading, writing, playing outside, spending time with their friends & family, or playing board games.

I ran frisbee workshops for students in Grade 3-8 and had enough time that I was able to teach them all about throwing, catching, disc golf, freestyle, distance, and challenging their friend as they chased after my throws. They had so much fun, and it was awesome seeing all the smiles on their faces!
