Today I spoke to 300+ students at Hubbard Elementary in Oromocto, New Brunswick. I started the morning off with my Resiliency Assembly and gave the students my Unplugg’d Challenge. I always love seeing the reactions and teaching the kids more about technology and the effects it can have on them. It’s important that they have the facts so they can make their own choices when it comes to screen time and start setting their own limits.
After the assembly, I ran frisbees workshops for the rest of the day for the Grade 3-5 classes. I showed the kids a lot of cool things that you can do with a frisbee, then I taught them how to throw & catch and then we played some games to work on those skills.
I had such a fun day and one of the highlights for sure was getting to work with the PE teacher, Cathy, who added so much energy to the presentation and the workshops. She’s a huge Michael Jackson fan and gives so much to her students. It was so awesome having her support and because we’re similar, the frisbee workshops were a ton of fun and everyone got to work on their skills!
