Guinness World Record Holder to Visit Schools in Prince George

“Frisbee Rob” McLeod will be spending the week in Prince George, challenging students to “Get Unplugg’d“, inspiring them to be their best self, and teaching them what’s possible with frisbee.

Students at three schools in the School District No. 57 are in for a treat this week when they receive a visit from 6-time Guinness World Record holder Rob “Frisbee Rob” McLeod, who is a motivational speaker and frisbee ambassador from Calgary.

Rob’s schedule:

  • Tues, March 5: Van Bien Elementary
  • Wed, March 6 (am): Beaverly Elementary
  • Wed, March 6 (pm): Vanway Elementary)

Rob is concerned about the amount of time that kids are spending in front of a screen (the average kid spends 8 hours a day in front of a screen and 3 hours playing video games). Rob will give every student his Unplugg’d Challenge, to go one day without a screen. So far, Rob has challenged hundreds of schools and thousands of kids. Find out more at http://www.unpluggd.ca.

The more time kids spend with their friends and family, away from screens, the more they develop empathy, so by getting Unplugg’d, people actually become more empathetic. Unplugging = Kindness.

Rob travels all over the world competing in frisbee competitions and has been touring North America for five years sharing his message to over 100,000 kids from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
