Physical Literacy Workshops and Unplugging at Silverthorne Elementary

After spending two days speaking and teaching frisbee to 150 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 at Silverthorne Elementary, I sat down with the principal, Julie Krall, to talk about the value of providing opportunities to her students all the way from a breakfast & lunch program, to ski trips, frisbee residencies, skating, and outdoor playground equipment to encourage movement and play.

Over the two days, the students learned what’s possible with frisbee including throwing & catching, ultimate, disc golf, freestyle, creating throws, and inventing games.

I also challenged them to get unplugg’d, talked about the value of physical literacy, resiliency, and kindness.
