Physical Literacy Frisbee Workshops at Witset Elementary School

I spent the afternoon teaching students at Witset Elementary from Pre K to Grade 7 what’s possible with frisbee including throwing & catching, ultimate, disc golf, freestyle, creating throws, and inventing games.

I also shared messages of physical literacy, resiliency, and challenged them to get unplugg’d.

Witset Elementary School is an independent school certified through the BC Ministry of Education.

The Kyah Wiget Education Society is a non-profit organization that was formed as an independent body responsible for all educational matters in Witset, while accountable to the people of the community. It meets the BC Core Curriculum standards while also providing their students with language and cultural studies from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The Society promotes respect for oneself and others, as well as property and all forms of life. The encouragement of Witsuwit’en Culture is highly important to their students’ education. They also welcome the community to express their ideas and concerns about Witsuwit’en education.

The Kyah Wiget Education Society works cooperatively with other educational institutions, First Nations and all levels of Government.
