Rob McLeod and Davy Whippet broke both the Classic and Unlimited World Records at the 2012 Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Thursday, September 20 with a throw of 281 feet and 291 feet, respectively. Here is a video showing the 2 World Record throws + catches. Rob and Davy were also the World Champions in both events.
First Skyhoundz World Record – August 2011
In the Skyhoundz Western Regional qualifying tournament for the Skyhoundz World Championships, Rob threw a disc 92 yards and Davy Whippet, owned and trained by Lara Sorenson, caught it. The disc, a Hyperflite Comp Standard, got held up in the wind and Davy Whippet was able to track and catch the disc.
This was the first time Rob has tried Xtreme Distance and his first weekend throwing to Davy and this throw actually set the World Record!
