The GOOD Games, Canada’s Biggest Festival of Sport, Play and Community, is bringing a live Guinness World Records attempt to the city as part of its 2026 Winter Edition, taking over the BMO Centre at Stampede Park from February 13 to 15, 2026, during Chinook Blast.
The record attempt will be led by Rob McLeod – known as Frisbee Rob – a Calgary-based motivational speaker and flying disc ambassador who holds 13 Guinness World Records, 14 World Championships, and the Canadian Distance Record. McLeod will be attempting the official Guinness World Records title of Basketball Field Goal, launching a flying disc from long range and threading it cleanly through a regulation basketball hoop in front of a live audience.
McLeod is best known for his viral endzone-to-endzone halftime performance at a Calgary Stampeders game alongside his canine partner, Sailor the Touchdown Dog, a moment that captured hundreds of millions of views worldwide and cemented his reputation for blending sport, spectacle, and joy.
“This is exactly what The GOOD Games is about – big community energy and moments that make people feel alive,” said Helen Stoumbos, Founder and CEO of The GOOD Games. “We are building a winter weekend where families can show up, try something new, cheer loudly, and be part of something unforgettable. Bringing a Guinness World Records attempt into the heart of the festival is a perfect way to unite the city through joy, movement, and shared experience.”
A former multi-sport kid who didn’t discover frisbee until after high school, McLeod has built his career by turning missed throws into teachable moments. He has now inspired more than 250,000 students across Canada with his message of effort, resilience, and learning through failure.
“I love the moment right before the throw, when everyone is holding their breath,” said McLeod. “This attempt isn’t just about breaking a record – it’s about showing kids and adults that progress comes from trying, missing, learning, and showing up again. If we can turn failure into fuel, we can do anything.”
The Basketball Field Goal record demands both distance and precision, requiring the disc to travel more than half the length of a hockey rink before dropping cleanly through a basketball net – a target only inches wider than the disc itself.
