Students in schools across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are in for a treat over the next two weeks when they receive a visit from 6-time Guinness World Record holder Rob “Frisbee Rob” McLeod, who is a motivational speaker and frisbee ambassador living Calgary.
Rob is originally from the maritimes and grew up in Woodstock, NB before moving away for university. He attended Dalhousie University from 2001-2005 before moving to Calgary where he has lived ever since.

He will be speaking to students about Digital Literacy, Unplugging, Kindness, Acceptance, and Determination. He will also be teaching frisbee to students, showing them what’s possible with frisbee and teaching them how to have fun and be more active.
His core theme throughout will be encouraging and challenging students to Get Unplugg’d through his challenge Unplugg’d (http://www.unpluggd.ca). His goal is to have kids develop more self-awareness and self-discipline around their use of technology, to decrease their screen time and to increase their time spent with friends and family and being active.
Rob travels all over the world competing in frisbee competitions and has been touring North America for almost four years sharing his message to over 20,000 kids from Kindergarten to Grade 12. His Resiliency Assembly includes messages of Kindness, Acceptance, Determination and Curiosity. He also runs frisbee workshops for students that includes throwing & catching, running and showing the possibilities that exist with a frisbee (150+ throws and infinite catches!).
In addition to his 6 Guinness World Records, Rob also has 10 World Championships and holds the Canadian Distance Record for throwing a flying disc farther than any other Canadian, which is currently 712 feet (more than 2 football fields!).
Rob has also co-authored a children’s book featuring real-life dog Davy Whippet, his canine teammate and best friend. Together they have 2 Guinness World Records. The book is titled The Davy Rule and it teaches kids about acceptance, kindness, determination and self-awareness, aimed at children ages 4-10.
